Simon replied, “To keep you dressed in this sackcloth and to continue to shave your head is such a tragic shame, and yes, I do object. If we proclaimed what has happened here to the nations, declaring that you are the mother of the One who will be called King of Kings and Lord of Lords, it would surely bring hope to all. The Gospel of the morning star that has marked you both shall be enough to convince them
Mary said, “My dear Simon, though the sign lies in front of the eyes of our people, they will not see the truth in it because they must see the One that I carry first. Do not forget who laid down that terrible sign. Let it then hang in the air, for the truth shall be laid bare before all in due time. It is also important that I remain concealed as a male, so I will be hidden. The people will see me not as I am, but as they wish, and this is what will grant us safe passage into Jerusalem
So Simon and Mary crossed the river to the west, traveled north until its end, and then made their way westward until they reached Harran. There was talk that a miraculous sign that beckoned the Messiah had arrived over Nineveh, and the city was so blessed that all afflictions had left the people. When a crowd of zealous crosswrights saw the unusual appearance of Simon and Mary, they became inquisitive and put questions to them.
An elder crosswright grabbed the child Mary by the wrist. He then whispered to the other elders, “We have seen this wondrous sign over Nineveh; we heard the rumors, and now an unusual sight has arrived in our midst.”
A young leader questioned Simon, “This must be the child that the scriptures have long predicted. Give to us your testimony, keeper of the child.”
"Keeper of the child is what you call me, and that is what I am," Simon replied. "This child belongs in Jerusalem, and I have taken it upon me to see that this child makes safe passage into the holy city."
The young leader retorted, "Well, surely this one can testify on his own, then."
The elder asked, "What say you, child? Are you the male child we have been long awaiting? Where is your mother?”
The child Mary replied, "I am not the One you are referring to. You speak about the Son who is yet to come. Out of the clouds, he shall arrive, bearing a name that only he himself knows. He is the descendant of David, from the root of Jesse. You ask me for my testimony because you have seen the star cast over Nineveh, and you know that I have borne the appearance of this sight.” The crosswrights were impressed, gave immense praise to the child and the elder released his grip from Mary’s wrist.
Unwilling to accept their excessive lavishing, the child proclaimed, "I tell you, crosswrights, you who bear no wounds but carry nails, you call this One a male, and I have heard it said that all of his disciples were men; however, women have been present among you since the earliest synagogues. To not disturb the corrupt generations, the women of God bound their breasts and bore their testimony in the most lowly of places. These holy women could reveal themselves only to the Father and His inner circle. Do not be so quick to trust what the demagogues record of their times when a small etching on a pebble can overturn the entire contents of the past.”
The young leader replied, “What kind of child is saying these things? It’s a scandal.”
The child said, “That’s what you say I am, and I am. Just as the root is, so too am I. That which is called the morning star and I are one.”
The crosswrights conferred and then spoke to Simon, saying, "Just as the scriptures have foretold about the end of days, the appearance of the star, his corruption of scripture, his scoffing, and the confessions from the child’s own lips, he shows himself to be possessed by the Antichrist. Indeed, since you are the keeper of this child, take him to Jerusalem, the holy city, and cleanse him in the Pool of Bethesda to rid him of his many demons. May Christ save the child.” The crowd dispersed and left Simon and Mary alone.
A bystander named Martha, who had been watching all that had transpired, approached Simon and Mary, saying, “How is it that you have commanded the crosswrights zealots to leave you? For they have left no child unmolested in this city. Mine were taken from me, yet they did not take this child away from his keeper.”
Mary said then to Martha, “You can teach your brother to fish, but you cannot grasp the rod for him. You can show an unruly horse the way to the stream, but you cannot force him to drink. Yet I tell you, if you dig an oasis on every side of him, when all the wild beasts and birds of the air gather with joy to drink, then at his sight of this, there shall stir within him a thirst, and he too shall drink.”
Martha replied, “I do not understand what you say, child.”
The child then said, “I will explain what I said to you, dear one. You see, the crosswrights are like the unruly horse who will not drink even if led to water. Like all wild children, they would sooner strike the hand that waters them than be filled. This is because for them to be quenched, they must realize they are thirsty. For a creature that has never tasted water, the idea of thirst is very painful, you see. If I gave them the truth as it is, they would stone me, and fire would come out of the rocks to burn them up because I am pointing out their lack. So, my words are like a fence that is put around such an unruly animal. Encircled by the truth, they can do no violence, though they lash out as they will. They mean no harm; they are but babes after all.”
Martha replied, “Child, surely you must be from another world. Whether Heaven or Hell, this child has done the impossible,” and she began to weep.
With outreached hands, the child swept them over Martha, then turned towards the morning star that shone over Nineveh and spoke, “Martha, do not weep any longer. Behold the truth!”
The heavens quaked, and the morning star, which once shone with a bright, white light, turned to the color of blood. Within the halo of the star appeared the image of the red dragon called the devil, which had wrapped his tail and neck around the star. With a presence that made a chasm, he cast his eyes towards the gaze of Martha, and a great furnace of fire engulfed her body, but she was not harmed. When she looked into the fire, she saw three figures. One figure resembled the Son of Man, shining in brilliant light, while beneath his feet, the figure of Mother Mary stood on the moon. Both had faces that were shining like the stars in the heavens. The third figure was as tall as the sun shining with colors like twelve gemstones. As quickly as it had come, the fire fled. Martha fell to her knees when all she saw was Mary and Simon standing in front of her.
Mary then spoke to Martha, “Dear Martha, be not afraid. Now that you have seen the truth—the star that hangs over Nineveh and the wicked one who cast it down from the sky—you are right to be on your knees, but do not let your heart be troubled.” Mary wiped away Martha’s tears. Martha stood up on her feet. Mary continued, “This sign is a blight to us all, but lest you forget what has been said, this curse has brought a wellspring to Nineveh. Just as the snake on the rod was raised, the dragon's red star has been raised. The red star is but a sign of what is and what is to come. How blessed you are to have sight of it, dear mother, for this generation has demanded a sign, and when a sign has come, they cannot see it, but you have. Take heart in your vision of the blight. This day is the beginning of the birth pains that shall one day cast the wicked one down into the abyss and bring forth streets of gold out of Heaven.”
Martha then spoke, “You call me mother, but it is you who is the mother of me. May I come with you? I know not who you are, but I know now that you are a child who has come from God.”
The child Mary replied, “My dear one, as much as I would like to gather you up, there is only One that I carry with me, and where he is going, you cannot follow. I say to all mothers who love their children: the little children are not your own. To love, you must let go. This is the wisdom of my Father.”
Mary held Martha’s hand. “Here is my right hand, and here is yours. You shall do greater works than were done in Nineveh, but I cannot say how they shall be done; only the Father knows. But I will tell you that what was done in Nineveh, five times over her blessings, shall be in your house. So stay here in Harran. When it is time, the coming One shall be brought forth. Before he comes, he will send his Advocate for you, and you will do his works, which are the works of the Father. We shall take leave of you now. Tell no one what you have seen except your two sons, Oriah and Elorion. Go to the crosswrights and gather the brothers out of their midst. The Spirit of the Advocate to come shall grant you knowledge of what to do and then the crosswrights shall release them both back into your arms. Take heart, dear mother Martha, you shall overcome.”
“Truly, you are the mother of the One that is coming.” said Martha, who longed to worship the child, but an angel came to her side and stopped her.
The child, Mary, then spoke, “It is as you say. For my womb is not of this world, as is also the child that I carry. He is not of this world, but he is coming to the world only to depart once more.”
